Jackie and Tony

Jackie and Tony’s wedding day in Annapolis Valley NS had a charming, small-town feel. They tied the knot during a ceremony at St. Anthony’s Church in Berwick in front of their closest family and friends. Their adorable nieces and nephews stole the show as flower girls and ring bearers, bringing many giggles and smiles among guests as they made their way up the aisle. Jackie wore a bridal gown from The Bridal Gallery in New Westminster BC and her maid of honour and bridesmaids wore whimsical cocktail dresses from Button Box Boutique (Chilliwack, BC) in all different colours, while the groom and his groomsmen wore suits from Black and Lee of Langley, BC. Danielle Grasley provided hair and makeup services for the bridal party, and Katherine Hanlon, a friend of the bride, provided makeup for the bride and the mother of the bride.

Following the ceremony, guests gathered on the front steps of the church for a group photo before making their way to the reception venue, Jackie’s childhood cottage and now her parent’s permanent home. Upon arrival at the reception, guests were greeted with homemade sangria and charcuterie boards featuring local meats and cheeses assembled by Jackie’s aunts, followed by a delicious buffet dinner by Cocoa Pesto. The highlight for the younger guests was the extensive sundae bar following the dinner – so many options! There was also a delicious cake by Cakes for All Occasions by Lorraine.

The reception featured a perfect mix of rustic, soft pastels and elegance – antique wooden doors led the guests into a lakefront pavilion featuring wooden chairs adorned with burlap, light pink table runners matching the maid of honour’s dress and a beautiful chandelier above the dance floor. The beautiful décor, including rentals from The Wedding Vogue and handmade pieces, was accented by florals by A Beautiful Bouquet Floral Designs and Décor, including the bouquets and boutonnieres. Advanced Systems Audio Visual set up on the dock and kept the guests on their feet with lively East Coast music, the perfect setting for Najma of Live Art by Najma to do a live painting.

Since it was an abnormally chilly day for the beginning of September, neighbours from around the lake brought blankets for the guests to keep warm as they mingled, danced and toasted marshmallows over an open fire near the dance floor.  Fireworks over the lake capped off the night and guests left with personalized holiday ornaments as a wedding favour – a lovely reminder for the holiday season to follow. There were personalized touches at every turn and Trevor Allen Photography and Jock Hiltz were there to capture every detail.
